Kisii County Hits Sh1.5 Billion Revenue Milestone as Governor Arati Praises Officers

Kisii Governor Simba Arati has commended county revenue officers for their dedication and efficiency after the county surpassed its own source revenue target for the 2024/2025 financial year.

Speaking during a meeting with revenue officers at the Kisii Agricultural Training Centre, Governor Arati revealed that the county collected a record-breaking Sh1.5 billion, exceeding its target by 178 percent.

The governor attributed the achievement to improved revenue collection systems, commitment among officers, and enhanced accountability in county operations.

Arati praised the officers for their hard work, saying the milestone demonstrates that Kisii County is capable of strengthening its financial independence and supporting development projects through locally generated revenue.

“This achievement is a clear indication that teamwork, integrity, and commitment can transform service delivery and boost county development,” said the governor.

He urged the revenue officers to maintain professionalism and continue working together to help the county meet and surpass future revenue targets.

The governor noted that increased local revenue collection is critical in funding development projects, improving public services, and reducing overreliance on national government allocations.

Arati also challenged county staff to embrace transparency and efficiency in revenue administration to sustain growth and support the county’s long-term economic agenda.

The meeting brought together county revenue officers and officials involved in finance and administration, with discussions focusing on strategies to further enhance revenue collection and service delivery across the county.
