Homa Bay Mourns Influential Educationist as Governor Gladys Wanga Pays Tribute to Madam Mildred Ngesa

 



The County Government of Homa Bay and the education fraternity are mourning the death of Madam Mildred Ngesa, the Chief Principal of Ratang'a Girls' High School, whose leadership and dedication to mentoring young girls earned her admiration across the county.

In a heartfelt condolence message, Gladys Wanga described Madam Ngesa as a supportive and visionary education leader who played a critical role in empowering girls through education and mentorship.

Governor Wanga recalled Madam Ngesa’s contribution to the Governor’s Girls’ Mentorship Camp, noting that the principal graciously hosted last year’s edition of the program at Ratang'a Girls’ High School and was instrumental in ensuring its success.

“Madam Ngesa was a supportive Head of Institution in our program, the Governor’s Girls’ Mentorship Camp, hosting last year’s edition where she played a key role in the overall success of the program,” Governor Wanga said.

The governor further conveyed condolences to Madam Ngesa’s family, the students, teachers, parents, and the wider education community following the loss of the respected principal.

“To her family, the students, staff, and parents of Ratang'a Girls' High School, as well as the entire education fraternity, please accept my sincere condolences and those of the entire County Government of Homa Bay,” she added.

Education stakeholders in Homa Bay County described Madam Ngesa as a committed administrator whose passion for academic excellence and mentorship positively impacted many students and fellow educators.

Her passing leaves a significant gap in the county’s education sector, particularly among programs aimed at empowering and mentoring young girls. Funeral arrangements are expected to be announced by the family in due course.
