Gachagua Mourns Kanini Kega’s Mother in Emotional Tribute

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has mourned the death of Mama Annah Nyatoro Ndung’u, the mother of East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) MP Hon. Kanini Kega, describing her as a devoted family matriarch and a pillar of her community.

In an emotional condolence message released on Friday, Gachagua said he received the heartbreaking news shortly after Kanini Kega travelled to the United Kingdom on an assignment he had personally entrusted to him.

“It is with profound sadness that I have learnt of the passing on of Mama Annah Nyatoro Ndung’u, mother of EALA MP Hon. Kanini Kega, early today,” Gachagua said.

The former Deputy President revealed that the timing of the news was particularly painful, noting that he had only spoken to Kanini Kega a day earlier before the legislator travelled abroad.

“It is only yesterday that I gave you an assignment to the United Kingdom as my younger brother, only for you to arrive and receive the sad news,” he stated.

Gachagua conveyed his heartfelt condolences to Kanini Kega, the family of Simon Ndung’u Mutitu, relatives, and friends as they come to terms with the loss of their loved one.

“The loss of a mother is painful; may God grant you and your family strength to bear the loss,” he added.

He praised the late Mama Annah as a hardworking and compassionate woman who dedicated her life to educating her children and supporting members of her community. According to Gachagua, her generosity and kindness made her widely respected in her village.

The former Deputy President also recognized her service to the church, particularly through the Woman’s Guild of PCEA Mwiyogo Parish, where she was actively involved in church development and community activities.

“My condolences also go to members of the Woman’s Guild of PCEA Mwiyogo Parish where she served as a dedicated member and took an active role in the development of the parish,” he said.

As the family prepares for her final send-off, Gachagua assured them of his continued prayers and support.

He concluded his message by praying for the eternal rest of the deceased.

“May the soul of Mama Annah rest in eternal peace and perpetual light shine upon her forever,” he said.
