WAMUCHOMBA SHOWCASES Q1 DEVELOPMENT RECORD IN GITHUNGURI
Gathoni Wamuchomba has outlined an ambitious development scorecard for the first quarter of 2026, highlighting key investments in education, infrastructure, and social support programmes across Githunguri Constituency.
In a detailed report released to the public, the legislator pointed to significant progress in improving learning conditions, including the delivery of a school bus to Githunguri Township School and the construction of multiple ablution blocks in primary schools such as Gathaithi, Kiairia, and Githima.
The MP also confirmed the distribution of more than 1,100 desks and chairs to 11 schools, alongside dining tables to Mukua Primary and Secondary schools, in efforts aimed at enhancing student welfare and easing congestion in classrooms.
To support household incomes and promote agribusiness, over 10,000 avocado seedlings were distributed to residents, while water storage tanks were supplied to institutions including schools and police posts.
On infrastructure, Ms Wamuchomba cited ongoing road works, including the tarmacking of the Kibauni–Gathiruni road and upgrades to key links such as Kiamwago–Kianwe, Munandaini–Gitombo, and Gakure–Gwa Kariu roads. She added that sections of Kibichoi–Marige road are undergoing recarpeting, alongside last-mile electricity connections in Gituamba and Githima areas.
Through the NG-CDF, the constituency has also issued over 12,000 bursary cheques to support needy students, underscoring a continued focus on access to education.
The legislator said the projects reflect her development-first approach, emphasizing service delivery over political rhetoric.
“We remain committed to transforming lives through practical interventions that touch on education, infrastructure, and economic empowerment,” she said.
Her report comes amid increasing scrutiny of constituency-level development, with leaders under pressure to demonstrate tangible outcomes from public resources.
Residents and stakeholders are expected to assess the impact of the projects as implementation progresses, particularly in ensuring quality, accountability, and sustainability.
