Wajir Town Roads Get Major Boost: KURA and MP Keynan Launch Bitumen Upgrade

In a move set to transform transportation and commerce in Wajir Town, the Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA), in partnership with Eldas MP Adan Keynan, has begun upgrading key road sections to modern bitumen standards.

The project targets sections of Eldas Constituency roads, aiming to enhance connectivity, ease travel, and stimulate economic growth for both local residents and neighboring communities.

Speaking on the initiative, leaders highlighted that the improved roads will make it easier for businesses to thrive, enable smoother transport of goods, and improve access to vital services such as healthcare and education.

The initiative is being spearheaded by KURA Director General Silas Kinoti, whose leadership has been credited with accelerating infrastructure development across urban and peri-urban regions in Kenya.

Residents have welcomed the upgrade, noting that it promises relief from long-standing challenges posed by poorly maintained roads, especially during the rainy season. Construction is already underway, with officials assuring the public of minimal disruption and timely completion.

This development is part of a broader national effort to modernize transport networks and foster inclusive economic growth across underserved regions.
