ODM ENGAGES YOUTH LEADERS AHEAD OF 2027 POLLS

Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris has reaffirmed the Orange Democratic Movement’s (ODM) commitment to youth inclusion following a strategic meeting with young party leaders in Nairobi.

The engagement, led by ODM Deputy Party Leader Simba Arati and Party Chairperson Gladys Wanga, brought together legislators and youth representatives to deliberate on the party’s future direction as it gears up for the 2027 General Election.

Hon Passaris said the discussions centered on harnessing the energy, innovation, and perspectives of young people to shape a more responsive and inclusive party.

“As a party, we recognize that our strength lies in the energy, ideas, and participation of young people. Their voice is central to building a forward-looking ODM,” she said.

She noted that as ODM transitions into its next phase after marking two decades, unity and commitment to its founding ideals will be critical.

“Moments of transition test character. They reveal who remains firm and who drifts. As ODM, we remain anchored in the values and legacy that have defined us over the years,” she added.

The Nairobi Woman Representative expressed confidence in the party’s leadership, citing guidance from Party Leader Oburu Oginga, alongside Chairperson Ms Wanga and Deputy Leader Mr Arati, as key to strengthening the party’s grassroots structures.

Leaders present signaled renewed momentum within the party, with plans underway for an ODM Youth Convention aimed at consolidating support and amplifying youth voices.

The meeting comes amid heightened political realignments, with parties increasingly focusing on youth mobilisation as a decisive factor in the 2027 elections.

ODM leaders reiterated their readiness for the polls, expressing confidence that the party will emerge “bigger, better, and bolder” as it charts its path beyond 20 years.
