New Leaders Sworn In as Taita Taveta Students Association Charts Fresh Path

A new chapter has begun for students from Taita Taveta County following a colourful swearing-in ceremony of newly elected officials of the Taita Taveta Students Association, held at Taita Taveta National Polytechnic.

The event brought together university and college students from across the country who trace their roots to Taita Taveta County, alongside local leaders, stakeholders, and invited guests. The ceremony was marked by excitement, unity, and a renewed sense of purpose as the incoming leaders officially took their oath of office.

In their pledges, the newly sworn-in officials committed to serving the student community with dedication, focusing on promoting education, mentorship, and community development initiatives aimed at uplifting students from the region.

Labour and Skills Development Principal Secretary Shadrack Mwadime, who graced the occasion as the chief guest and was unveiled as the association’s patron, congratulated the new leadership and challenged them to embrace servant leadership.

“Leadership is not about positions or titles, but about responsibility, integrity, and the ability to create opportunities for others,” he said, urging the student leaders to work collaboratively and remain focused on delivering meaningful impact.
