Mwea MP Mary Maingi Urges Families to Support Children During School Holiday

Mwea Member of Parliament Mary Maingi has called on families to use the current school holiday period to nurture, guide, and support children as they take a break from their academic schedules.

In a message addressed to residents of Mwea, the legislator noted that the school break offers children an important opportunity to rest, refresh, and reconnect with their families after a busy term. She encouraged learners to make good use of their time at home by balancing relaxation with light reading and helping with household responsibilities.

“To our children, take this time to relax, help at home, read a little, and come back ready to learn even better next term,” she said.

At the same time, Maingi expressed appreciation to parents and guardians for their continued commitment to raising and supporting their children despite economic and social challenges. She urged them to remain actively involved in guiding young people to ensure they stay safe, disciplined, and focused during the holiday period.

The MP emphasized the importance of collective responsibility in shaping the future of children, describing them as a valuable asset to the community and the nation at large.

“Our children are our future, and together, we must continue to nurture them,” she added.

Her remarks come at a time when schools across the country have closed for the holidays, with families expected to spend more time together before the next academic term begins.

Maingi concluded by wishing all families in Mwea a safe, peaceful, and restful holiday season.
