Hope Rises in Bunyore: New Partnership Targets Drug and Alcohol Recovery

A renewed wave of hope is emerging for individuals battling drug and alcohol addiction following a strategic partnership between Reuben Kigame Foundation and Solid Rock Recovery CBO.

The collaboration was sealed during a meeting at Stone Mountain Center, where stakeholders outlined a comprehensive plan to rehabilitate and empower recovering addicts through a blend of spiritual, social, and economic interventions.

At the heart of the initiative is a holistic approach that combines Biblical teaching, counseling, and practical skills development. Organizers say the program is designed not only to help individuals overcome addiction but also to rebuild their lives with dignity and purpose.

Farming has been identified as a key pillar of the initiative, offering participants a chance to engage in productive work while gaining sustainable livelihood skills. In addition, talent development programs will nurture abilities in areas such as music, art, and vocational trades—providing alternative pathways for self-expression and income generation.

Counseling services will address the psychological toll of substance abuse, while community empowerment efforts aim to reduce stigma and foster acceptance of those in recovery.

Leaders from both organizations expressed confidence that the partnership will transform lives and strengthen community resilience. They also called on local leaders, stakeholders, and well-wishers to support the initiative as it rolls out in the coming months.

The joint effort marks a significant step in addressing substance abuse at the grassroots level, offering a model of recovery built on faith, empowerment, and community support.
