Eliud Owalo Outlines ‘Third Liberation’ Agenda in Radio Maisha Interview
Presidential candidate Eliud Owalo has unveiled key pillars of his 2027 presidential bid, centred on what he termed as Kenya’s “Third Liberation”—an ambitious plan aimed at achieving economic emancipation for all citizens.
Speaking during a morning interview on Radio Maisha, Owalo engaged listeners in a wide-ranging discussion on his vision for the country, outlining policy priorities designed to tackle Kenya’s pressing socio-economic challenges.
At the heart of his agenda is a commitment to reduce taxes and ease the public debt burden, which he said continues to strain both households and the national economy. He also pledged to enforce zero tolerance to corruption, describing it as a major obstacle to equitable development.
Owalo further promised sweeping reforms in the social sector, including free primary and day secondary education, as well as free healthcare in public hospitals to ensure universal access to essential services.
“We must focus on policies that uplift the common mwananchi and create equal opportunities for all,” he said, adding that strengthening the rule of law would be key to restoring public trust in institutions.
In addition, the candidate highlighted plans to position Kenya as a leading sporting nation in Africa, noting the untapped potential within the country’s youth.
Owalo expressed gratitude to radio hosts Wycliffe Okumu and Dalmas Sakali for providing a platform to articulate his vision to Kenyans across the country.
He said the journey toward “a prosperous, united, and opportunity-driven nation” is ongoing, calling on citizens to rally behind his agenda for transformative change.
