Sifuna: “We Will Be Back” After Eventful Narok Tour
The Secretary General of the Orange Democratic Movement, Edwin Sifuna, has thanked residents of Narok following a dramatic political tour marked by heavy rains and the use of tear gas.
Addressing supporters after the visit, Sifuna acknowledged the unusual mix of weather and tension that disrupted parts of the event but maintained a light-hearted tone.
“Thank you Narok! Mvua na teargas imeleta mchanganyiko kidogo lakini tunawapenda. Hapa itabidi turudi tena,” he said.
The ODM official praised the turnout and resilience of supporters who braved the rain to attend the rally, saying the reception demonstrated strong grassroots support despite the challenges encountered.
The incident, which saw the use of tear gas to disperse crowds at one point, has sparked reactions among political leaders, with calls for tolerance and peaceful engagement during public gatherings.
Sifuna reaffirmed the party’s commitment to engaging wananchi across the country and hinted at a return to Narok for a more stable and uninterrupted meeting.
The tour is part of ODM’s ongoing efforts to consolidate support and strengthen its presence in various regions ahead of future political activities.
