Lusaka Backs Ruto’s 2027 Bid, Urges Fast-Tracking of Bungoma Projects
Kenneth Lusaka has called on the national government to accelerate key infrastructure projects in Bungoma County, while expressing support for President William Ruto ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Speaking during the launch of the Kimilili Huduma Centre on Wednesday, an event presided over by the President during his development tour of the region, Lusaka praised the government’s ongoing investments across multiple sectors.
The governor, however, urged faster completion of critical road projects, including the Kimilili–Bokoli and Misikhu–Brigadier routes, citing their importance in improving connectivity and boosting local economic activity.
“We have made significant progress on our section from Naitiri to Brigadier. I urge the national government to fast-track the Misikhu–Naitiri stretch to ensure seamless connectivity,” Lusaka said.
He noted that completing the road corridor would unlock economic opportunities in Tongaren and enhance access to neighboring areas.
Lusaka also appealed to the President to upgrade Matili Technical Training College to a national polytechnic, arguing that its expansion would strengthen skills development and support youth employment.
At the same time, he commended the government for ongoing projects in the county, including affordable housing initiatives in Kimilili and the construction of modern student hostels at the institution.
“The transformative projects being implemented across sectors, including roads, affordable housing, and modern markets, are a clear indication that the country is on the right development trajectory,” he said.
Expressing confidence in the President’s leadership, Lusaka said the visible development across the country positions him strongly for re-election.
“With the progress being witnessed nationwide, the people will undoubtedly reward you with re-election in 2027,” he added.
President Ruto is on a multi-day development tour of the Western region, commissioning projects and inspecting ongoing government initiatives aimed at boosting infrastructure and economic growth.
