Kilifi Deputy Governor Honoured for Advancing Youth and Sports

Her Excellency Flora Mbetsa Chibule, the Deputy Governor of Kilifi County, has been honoured by the county’s Department of Youth Affairs and Sports in recognition of her dedication and involvement in advancing youth and sports development across the region.

Speaking after receiving the award, the Deputy Governor expressed gratitude to the department for the recognition, noting that the honour reflects the collective efforts of leaders and stakeholders committed to empowering young people.

“I sincerely thank the Kilifi Department of Youth Affairs and Sports for honouring me with this award in recognition of my involvement and dedication to advancing youth and sports across the county,” she said.

She added that the recognition serves as motivation to continue championing programmes that create opportunities for young people, particularly women and girls, to develop their talents and pursue their dreams through sports and youth development initiatives.

According to the Deputy Governor, sports play a vital role not only in nurturing talent but also in promoting discipline, teamwork, and self-confidence among young people.

She emphasized that empowering the youth remains a key priority for the county leadership, noting that investments in youth programmes and sporting activities help build stronger communities and open doors to new opportunities.
