God, Leadership, and the Choices That Shape Our Legacy

Leadership is more than position—it is a spiritual responsibility. God anoints leaders, but it is the leader who decides what to do with that anointing. Free will is a gift, and the choices leaders make determine both the outcomes they achieve and the legacy they leave behind.

He who raises also brings down. Humility is a virtue; pride is a weakness. God exalts the humble and brings down the proud. For this reason, when we pray for God to raise leaders, we must also pray that they remain steadfast on the straight and narrow path. Otherwise, challenges and turmoil will persist.

Power and leadership are intertwined, and God Himself embodies ultimate power. True leadership is therefore not about domination but service, responsibility, and moral clarity. The strength of a nation lies not only in the positions held but in the ethical choices of those who lead.

As we reflect on leadership in our communities, workplaces, and government, let us ask ourselves: are we choosing wisely? Are our leaders acting with humility, integrity, and vision? The answers to these questions will shape the present—and the legacy we leave for future generations.

Leadership is a calling. Let us honour it with faith, humility, and wisdom.
