Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua Commends Youth Voter Registration Drive in Karatina

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has praised the spirited participation of young Kenyans in the voter registration drive, emphasizing their crucial role in shaping the nation’s future through democratic engagement.

Speaking after joining hundreds of Gen Z voters at the IEBC offices in Karatina town, Gachagua expressed optimism about the energy and innovation demonstrated by the youth in mobilizing themselves for electoral participation.

Together with his spouse, Rev. Dorcas, and their sons Kevin and Keith, the former Deputy President visited the IEBC offices to register and verify their voter details as part of the NIKO KADI initiative.

“The young people of Kenya are a vibrant and dynamic force in decision-making and remain incorruptible. Their efforts to register in large numbers for the upcoming elections are truly encouraging,” said Gachagua.

He highlighted the importance of voter registration in ensuring that citizens exercise their democratic right to vote out corrupt and irresponsible leaders, thereby safeguarding the economy and future prospects for the younger generation.

“This noble cause of mass voter registration will empower the youth to elect responsible leaders who prioritize Kenya’s growth and development,” he added.

Gachagua called on young people across the country to rise to the occasion and participate fully in the registration exercise.

“Let’s make a powerful statement at the ballot next year and work together to build a better Kenya for all,” he urged.

The NIKO KADI initiative has been instrumental in encouraging voter registration among young people, marking a significant step toward increased youth participation in Kenya’s democratic processes.
