Rarieda Constituency Celebrates the Leadership and Service of MP Dr. Otiende Amollo SC, CBS, EBS on His 55th Birthday

 Rarieda Constituency has been widely hailed as fortunate to be represented by Dr. Otiende Amollo SC, CBS, EBS, a distinguished legislator whose leadership continues to set high standards in governance, accountability, and people-centered development.

As Dr. Otiende Amollo marked his 55th birthday on Sunday, 1st February 2026, constituents and Kenyans across the country joined in celebrating a leader widely regarded as sharp, focused, principled, and deeply connected to the people he serves.

Dr. Otiende Amollo has consistently emphasized direct service delivery and financial prudence, particularly in the management of the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF). Under his stewardship, Rarieda Constituency has recorded notable achievements across housing, education, security, and economic empowerment.

Among his flagship initiatives is the Ondoa Nyasi Initiative, a housing program aimed at restoring dignity to vulnerable widows by replacing grass-thatched houses with permanent iron-sheeted homes. To date, over 80 houses have been successfully completed.

In the education sector, the constituency launched development projects worth Sh29 million in early 2026, including the construction of a Sh1.8 million classroom at Raliew Secondary School. All primary schools across the constituency have also been fenced and gated to enhance learner safety and security. Additionally, major facilities such as the Mirando Ongalo Mixed Multi-purpose Hall and a modern library at Oboch Mixed Secondary School have been commissioned.

To strengthen security and promote trade, the constituency installed high-mast floodlights costing Sh7 million each at Owimbi Centre and Asembo Bay Beach, significantly boosting 24-hour business activity and supporting the local fishing economy.

Rarieda’s commitment to accountability has earned national recognition, with the constituency becoming the first in the country to receive final NG-CDF disbursements for the 2017/2018 financial year, following strict compliance with auditing and financial management regulations.
