Mandera South Member of Parliament, Hon. Ebrahim Abdul Haro Kore, has reiterated his strong commitment to education, describing it as a critical pillar for social and economic transformation in the region.
The MP spoke during the launch of the Mandera County Bursary for the 2025/2026 Financial Year, which marks the fourth cohort of the county’s flagship bursary programme. The initiative continues to play a vital role in expanding access to education and easing the financial burden on families across the county.
Over the past four years, the County Government of Mandera has invested a total of KSh 1.7 billion in bursaries, benefiting students in all secondary schools within the county. The sustained funding has helped keep learners in school, reduced dropout rates, and strengthened progression through the education system.
These efforts have translated into measurable success. Mandera County recorded an impressive 98 per cent transition rate to Grade 10 this year, a milestone widely attributed to the county’s consistent investment in education and learner support.
Hon. Kore lauded the county government for its unwavering commitment to empowering young people through education, noting that such investments are laying a strong foundation for long-term development and opportunity.
