Chebisaas Boys rugby 15s open tournament enters knockout stage after thrilling group battles

The Chebisaas Boys Rugby 15s Open Tournament has reached its decisive phase following an intense round of preliminary fixtures that featured a blend of dominant victories, narrow escapes and resilient performances across all pools.
With fifteen teams battling for supremacy, the group stage produced compelling rugby that has now shaped an exciting quarterfinal lineup.
Kilimani were among the standout performers, registering emphatic wins including a 29–00 demolition of Kurgong and a commanding 24–00 victory over Arnesens. Their consistency earned them a deserved place in the last eight.
St Joseph’s Boys Kitale also impressed, opening their campaign with a tight 12–07 win over Sang’alo before sealing a 05–00 victory over Baringo to advance with confidence.
Chebisaas Boys, the tournament hosts, thrilled home supporters with a powerful 31–00 win over Kurgong and later displayed composure in their 13–07 triumph over Laboret. Meanwhile, Warreng fought their way through with narrow wins over KMTC (03–00) and Kipsigat (05–03), showing they can thrive under pressure.
Iten Day secured their quarterfinal slot after holding Kipsombe to a 0–0 draw and earning a 03–00 win over Kipsaos. Kipsombe themselves advanced through a commanding 21–00 victory against UoE High. St Patrick’s Iten joined the knockout stage after edging KMTC 03–00, while Laboret qualified with wins over Sang’alo and Baringo despite a loss to Chebisaas.
