Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital Hosts Interventional Radiology (IR) Camp

Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) is currently hosting an Interventional Radiology (IR) camp aimed at improving access to advanced, minimally invasive diagnostic and treatment services for patients from across the region.

The camp brings together a multi-disciplinary team of local specialists and visiting Interventional Radiologists who are offering highly specialized procedures using image-guided techniques.

These procedures allow doctors to diagnose and treat complex conditions through small incisions, reducing pain, shortening hospital stays, and promoting faster recovery for patients.

Several patients have already successfully undergone procedures such as image-guided biopsies, tumor embolization, vascular interventions, and drainage procedures.

Many of these patients would have  required open surgery or referral abroad.

The ongoing IR camp is expected to run through January 29, 2026 underscoring Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital’s commitment to advancing specialized healthcare, embracing innovation, and strengthening capacity to deliver world-class medical services to Kenyans and the wider East African region.
