Kiambu Woman Rep Reaffirms Commitment to Youth Empowerment

Kiambu Woman Representative Ann Wamuratha has reiterated her commitment to empowering young people, noting that organised and goal-oriented youth are critical to the county’s socio-economic transformation.

Ms Wamuratha spoke while hosting members of the Masafa Arts Production Group at her office, where they held discussions on ways of supporting young people involved in performance and creative arts. She emphasised the importance of nurturing talent and providing practical support to help the youth turn their skills into viable economic ventures.

As part of the initiative, trained chefs within the group were supported with chafing dishes to enhance their catering services, while nail technicians received UV machines to enable them to offer professional services and increase their earning potential. The support is aimed at helping the beneficiaries become self-reliant and competitive within their respective fields.

The Woman Representative said her office will continue to prioritise programmes that equip young people with practical tools, skills and resources to improve their livelihoods. She added that special focus will be placed on Kabete Constituency and other parts of Kiambu County to ensure that more young people benefit from empowerment initiatives.

Members of the Masafa Arts Production Group welcomed the support, saying it would go a long way in boosting their businesses and motivating them to further develop their talents. They also called for continued collaboration with leaders and stakeholders to strengthen the creative economy and create more opportunities for youth in the county.
