Gachagua Vows Political Reset as 2027 Elections Approach
Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has said Kenyans are determined to use the next general election to “correct the wrongs and ills” that the nation has endured, framing the 2027 polls as a decisive moment for the country’s future.
Speaking during an interaction with residents in Kiamwangi, Gatundu South Constituency, Gachagua said the mood across the country reflects a growing resolve among citizens to reclaim Kenya from what he described as goonism and entrenched corruption.
“The message from the people of Kenya remains one,” Gachagua said. “In the next general elections, we will correct all the wrongs and ills our nation has been subjected to.”
He added that Kenyans are united by a shared commitment to restore integrity in public life and protect democratic institutions, noting that public frustration with corruption and political intimidation continues to shape national discourse.
Gachagua thanked supporters for what he termed their unwavering backing, saying their encouragement had strengthened his resolve to remain vocal on national issues. He reserved special praise for residents of Kiamwangi, acknowledging their warm reception and engagement during his visit.
“Asanteni sana, wananchi wa Kiamwangi, Gatundu South Constituency, for your warm greetings,” he said.
The remarks come amid heightened political activity as leaders across the divide begin positioning themselves ahead of the next election cycle, with governance, corruption, and the rule of law emerging as dominant themes in public rallies and community meetings.
