Sad News: Former Likuyani MP Dr. Enock Kibunguchi Passes Away

The immediate former Member of Parliament for Likuyani, Dr. Enock Kibunguchi, has passed away.

Dr. Kibunguchi died while receiving treatment at a hospital in Eldoret, according to family sources. His death marks a significant loss to the people of Likuyani and the wider Kakamega County, where he was known for his dedication to public service.

Dr. Kibunguchi entered Parliament after succeeding the late businessman and politician Cyrus Jirongo as the Member of Parliament for Lugari Constituency. During his tenure, he represented Lugari before the constituency was later split into two, giving rise to the present-day Likuyani and Lugari constituencies. He went on to serve as the MP for Likuyani, becoming one of the constituency’s pioneering leaders.

As a legislator, Dr. Kibunguchi was recognized for his commitment to development and his close engagement with constituents, particularly in matters of education, infrastructure, and healthcare.

Leaders, residents, and colleagues have begun sending messages of condolence, remembering him as a calm, approachable, and service-driven leader who played a key role during a transitional period in the region’s political history.

Further details regarding funeral arrangements are expected to be communicated by the family.

May his soul rest in eternal peace.
