Optiven Foundation’s Feed1More Initiative Reaches 450 Residents in Vipingo

More than 450 residents of Vipingo benefited from a food donation drive spearheaded by the Optiven Foundation under its Feed1More Initiative, reinforcing the organization’s commitment to community empowerment and social transformation.

The outreach exercise was held at the Ocean View Ridge Vipingo project and was led by Optiven Group Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Hon. George Wachiuri. The initiative forms part of Optiven Foundation’s Poverty Eradication and Health pillars, which focus on restoring dignity and improving the quality of life among vulnerable communities through practical, people-centred interventions.

The event was conducted in collaboration with local administration officials led by the Miferejini Chief, with support from security officers to ensure a smooth and orderly distribution of essential food supplies to needy households.

Government representatives who attended the exercise commended Optiven Foundation for its timely support, noting that such interventions play a critical role in cushioning vulnerable families against economic hardships.

Speaking during the event, Optiven Foundation Coordinator Ms. Ann Nyaga urged residents to embrace the Optiven family, highlighting the company’s long-term investment and sustained commitment to community empowerment in Vipingo and its environs.

“This food distribution is part of our broader vision under the Feed1More Initiative, which seeks not only to address immediate needs but also to empower communities for long-term resilience,” Ms. Nyaga said.

Optiven’s Manager for Corporate Affairs, Ms. Cathrine Khasoa, took the opportunity to call on parents and guardians to protect their children from social challenges such as drug abuse and early pregnancies. She emphasized the importance of education as a key pathway to unlocking better opportunities and securing a brighter future for the next generation.

Staff from the Ocean View Ridge Vipingo office were also present, interacting with community members and providing information about the project and Optiven’s ongoing developments in the area.

The Feed1More Initiative is one of Optiven Foundation’s flagship outreach programmes, targeting less privileged members of society through regular, impactful interventions. These efforts are made possible through strategic partnerships with key stakeholders and reflect Optiven Foundation’s enduring commitment to inclusive development and social transformation under the leadership of Dr. Hon. George Wachiuri.
