Marakwet West MP Attends Engagement and Burial Ceremonies in Trans Nzoia County

Marakwet West Member of Parliament, Hon. Timothy Kipchumba Toroitich, on Saturday attended two significant community events in Trans Nzoia County, underscoring the importance of sharing both joyful and solemn moments with the people.

In the afternoon, the MP attended the engagement ceremony of Eusilah and Paul, which was held in Koitugum, Cherangany Chebororwa Ward. The colourful ceremony brought together family members, friends, and local residents to celebrate the union. Eusilah is the last-born sister of Ms. Kimeto Lilian, the Chief Executive Officer of the Kenya Yearbook Editorial Board. Hon. Toroitich congratulated the couple and wished them well as they prepare to begin their life together, noting the importance of strong family values in society.

Earlier in the day, Hon. Toroitich joined mourners at Waitaluk village in Kiminini Constituency for the burial of the late Mzee Daniel Tumo Mulwa, who was born in 1926. The late Mzee Mulwa was remembered as a strong advocate for education and community development, having left behind a legacy that speakers described as worth emulating. He was the father of Mr. Richard Mulwa, a successful entrepreneur based in Dallas, United States.

Hon. Toroitich conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family and encouraged the community to uphold the values of education and hard work that Mzee Mulwa stood for throughout his life.

At both events, the MP was accompanied by Hon. Paul Biego Polo. He emphasized the need for leaders to remain close to the people and to participate in both moments of celebration and mourning.

The MP concluded by giving thanks to God for the opportunity to fellowship with the community, noting that faith, unity, and shared values remain key pillars of societal growth.
