Khalwale Visits Late Lugari MP’s Home, Makes Symbolic Torch Statement
Kakamega Senator Dr Boni Khalwale on Tuesday visited the home of the late Lugari Member of Parliament during the day, carrying a torch in what he described as a symbolic act.
Addressing family members and residents at the homestead, Dr Khalwale stated that the torch represented a warning, claiming that if those responsible for the death of businessman and former Lugari MP Cyrus Jirongo were involved, they would also meet their fate when the torch went off. His remarks were symbolic in nature and not supported by any official investigation findings.
The senator’s statement drew mixed reactions from those present, with some viewing it as a cultural or spiritual expression, while others interpreted it as a strong political message. No evidence was presented to support the claim, and authorities have not linked the visit to any ongoing investigations.
