Dagoretti North MP Launches Fully Sponsored Digital Skills Training for 500 Youth

More than 500 Form Four leavers in Dagoretti North are set to benefit from a fully sponsored digital skills training programme launched by area Member of Parliament Beatrice Elachi.

The initiative is being implemented by the Ministry of Information, Communication and the Digital Economy in partnership with the Huawei DigiTruck Initiative, a nationwide mobile training programme that equips young people with practical digital skills.

The training will cover a wide scope of competencies, including basic and advanced computer literacy, online freelancing, digital entrepreneurship, digital marketing, e-commerce and guided ICT career pathways. Participants will also have access to mentorship opportunities to better position them for emerging jobs in the digital economy.

The Huawei DigiTruck — a modern, mobile digital classroom — has already begun operations in Dagoretti North, delivering hands-on sessions and expanding access to technology for learners.

Speaking during the rollout, MP Elachi reaffirmed her commitment to equipping young people with the skills required to compete in a rapidly evolving global job market.

“This programme marks an important step toward ensuring every young person in Dagoretti North is digitally empowered and ready for the global job market,” she said.

The initiative is expected to significantly enhance employability, promote innovation and strengthen the constituency’s contribution to Kenya’s growing digital economy.
