Wiper Leader Kalonzo Predicts Collapse of UDA-ODM Alliance Before 2027 Elections

Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has boldly predicted that the emerging political cooperation between President William Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and Raila Odinga’s Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) will crumble before the 2027 General Election. Speaking during a public address, Kalonzo dismissed the possibility of a lasting alliance between the two major political forces, calling it a temporary arrangement driven by political expediency.

“First, it will fall apart before the 2027 general election. You will not believe it,” Kalonzo declared, expressing skepticism over the sustainability of the UDA-ODM pact.

Kalonzo’s remarks come amid growing speculation about a potential coalition between Ruto and Raila, following a series of public gestures and political overtures. The Wiper leader, however, views the alliance as a betrayal of the Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya Coalition, which he claims effectively ended when Raila signed a cooperation agreement with the ruling Kenya Kwanza administration.

He further argued that the alliance lacks ideological coherence and is unlikely to withstand the pressures of the upcoming election season. “This is not about the people; it’s about power. And power without principle is bound to collapse,” Kalonzo added.

Political analysts suggest that Kalonzo’s comments signal his intent to position himself as a key opposition figure ahead of 2027, especially as realignments continue to reshape Kenya’s political landscape. With youth engagement in politics on the rise, Kalonzo emphasized the need for principled leadership and genuine representation.

As the country inches closer to the next polls, the durability of the UDA-ODM relationship remains uncertain, and Kalonzo’s prediction adds a new layer of intrigue to Kenya’s evolving political narrative.
