President Ruto Departs for Qatar to Strengthen Ties
Kenya continues to strengthen its global partnerships as part of the Government’s commitment to advancing economic diplomacy and creating new opportunities for its citizens.
This evening, I joined the Deputy President, H.E. Kithure Kindiki, in seeing off H.E. President William Samoei Ruto at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport ahead of his official visit to Doha, Qatar.
President Ruto’s visit marks a significant milestone in deepening Kenya’s strategic cooperation with the State of Qatar. During his stay in Doha, the President will hold high-level discussions with Qatari leaders and investors, where he is expected to finalize key investment agreements targeting expanded trade, infrastructure development, and job creation for Kenyans.
In addition to bilateral engagements, President Ruto will represent Kenya at the United Nations World Summit for Social Development, where he will champion inclusive growth, social justice, and sustainable economic transformation. His address at the Summit will reinforce Kenya’s leadership in promoting equitable development and shaping global policy on social advancement.
Speaking during the departure ceremony, I underscored the Government’s unwavering resolve to sustain a secure and conducive environment that promotes investment and economic growth.
“As a government, we are united in our mission to transform Kenya into a hub of opportunity—where every partnership contributes directly to prosperity and improved livelihoods for our people,” I said.
Kenya’s strengthened relations with Qatar align with President Ruto’s broader foreign policy vision of economic transformation through strategic global engagement. These partnerships are opening new markets, attracting foreign capital, and creating employment opportunities both at home and abroad.
The Ministry of Interior remains steadfast in safeguarding peace, security, and stability—pillars essential for sustainable development and the realization of the Government’s transformative agenda.
