Kilifi Deputy Governor Hosts Partners Ahead of Launch of “Strides to Resilience Health System” Program
Kilifi Deputy Governor Flora Mbetsa Chibule this morning hosted Belina Jhuthi, Programs Manager at the Aga Khan Foundation; Dorcas Amakobe, CEO of Moving The Goalposts; and Tom Osoti from the International Centre for Reproductive Health (ICRH) during a courtesy visit to her office.
The meeting focused on the upcoming seven-year “Strides to Resilience Health System” program, supported by Global Affairs Canada, which is set to officially launch next week in Ganze Sub-County.
The program will be implemented across 15 health facilities in Kilifi North, Ganze, Malindi, Rabai, and Kaloleni, with the overarching goal of improving the health and well-being of women and girls aged 9 to 40 years.
Through a robust partnership involving the Aga Khan Foundation, Moving The Goalposts, Aga Khan Health Services, Aga Khan University, and the ICRH, the initiative aims to:
Strengthen reproductive health services,
Empower health workers,
Improve health infrastructure, and
Advance the health rights of women and girls in Kilifi County.
“This partnership marks a major step forward in ensuring that women and girls in Kilifi have access to quality, equitable, and sustainable healthcare,” said Deputy Governor Flora Mbetsa Chibule. “We remain committed to creating an enabling environment for such transformative programs to thrive.”
The Kilifi Department of Gender, Culture and Social Services and the Kilifi Department of Health and Sanitation Services will play a key coordinating role to ensure the success and sustainability of the initiative.
