Eldoret National Polytechnic (TENP) is in its final preparations for the grand 20th Graduation Ceremony scheduled for Monday, marking a remarkable moment in the institution’s vibrant history. The event is expected to attract thousands of graduates, parents, dignitaries, partners, and community members who will gather to celebrate a year defined by growth, innovation, and world-class training.
This year’s ceremony carries special significance as TENP proudly releases over 3,000 graduates into the job market—well-prepared, industry-ready, and equipped with the skills necessary to drive Kenya’s development agenda. Among them are 300 Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) candidates whose professional experience and competencies have been formally certified. Their inclusion highlights TENP’s commitment to recognizing the diverse pathways through which Kenyans acquire valuable knowledge and skills.
The 20th Graduation Ceremony will be graced by Cabinet Secretary for Education, Midos Ogamba, who will attend as the chief guest. His presence is expected to energize conversations around the crucial role of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in the country’s socio-economic transformation. CS Ogamba is also anticipated to address policy shifts, government support for technical institutions, and the future of skills training in Kenya.
Under the visionary leadership of Chief Principal Dr. Charles Koech, OGW, Eldoret National Polytechnic has continued to scale new heights. The institution is currently ranked the best polytechnic in Kenya, a recognition attributed to its exceptional academic standards, rapidly growing enrolment, and commitment to producing globally competitive graduates. TENP’s tailor-made, industry-driven curricula ensure that learners acquire relevant and up-to-date skills, while its international partnerships continue to expand opportunities for student exchange, innovation, and research collaboration.
In the days leading up to the ceremony, the polytechnic’s grounds have been buzzing with activity as staff and students finalize logistical arrangements to ensure a smooth and memorable event. Marquees have been set up, rehearsal sessions are ongoing, and security measures have been strengthened to accommodate the large number of expected guests. Families traveling from across the country are already arriving in Eldoret, bringing an atmosphere of celebration and pride.
Speaking ahead of the big day, Chief Principal Dr. Koech extended a heartfelt invitation to the entire TENP community and the general public.“This 20th Graduation Ceremony is a celebration of transformation, resilience, and unstoppable excellence,” he said. “We welcome all our graduates, their families, partners, and friends of the institution to join us for this auspicious occasion as we honor the accomplishments of our students and reaffirm our commitment to delivering quality, industry-aligned training.”
Dr. Koech also commended the dedication of the teaching and non-teaching staff, noting that their hard work has made TENP a model institution in the TVET sector. He encouraged graduates to carry forward the values of integrity, professionalism, and innovation as they embark on the next chapter of their careers.
With everything now in place, anticipation is at an all-time high. Monday’s ceremony promises not only to celebrate academic achievement but also to showcase the power of technical education in shaping Kenya’s future. As TENP continues to grow and evolve, its 20th Graduation Ceremony stands as a testament to its enduring legacy as Kenya’s powerhouse of quality training, opportunity, and transformative impact.
