The Eldoret National Polytechnic (TENP) was awash with celebration and pride as the institution marked a day of remarkable milestones and well-deserved recognition. The vibrant event brought together staff, students, and distinguished guests to honor the institution’s recent string of achievements that have cemented its reputation as a leader in technical and vocational education in Kenya and beyond.

In a major triumph, The Eldoret National Polytechnic was officially ranked the #1 institution in the republic, a distinction that underscores the institution’s commitment to excellence, innovation, and transformative education. The recognition follows years of strategic leadership, dedicated teamwork, and unwavering pursuit of quality training.
“This achievement belongs to all of us,” said Chief Principal Dr. Charles Koech, OGW, as he commended staff and students for their collective effort in making TENP a national benchmark in technical education.
Academic and Professional Triumphs
The celebrations also shone a spotlight on personal academic excellence. Mr. Charles Ruto, the institution’s Procurement Manager, was honored for successfully earning his Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree. His pursuit of higher education was lauded as a model of lifelong learning and professional growth within the institution.
National Treasury Recognition and Continental Success
Adding to the list of accolades, Dr. Koech received recognition from the National Treasury for the successful and seamless onboarding of the e-GP (Electronic Government Procurement) system, a landmark achievement that enhances efficiency, transparency, and accountability in procurement processes.
In another groundbreaking feat, TENP was crowned the Best Overall Impact Assessment Institution in Africa, an award received through the efforts of Mr. Jonathan Ng’eno, the institution’s renowned Greening Champion. This continental honor highlights TENP’s dedication to sustainable practices and environmental stewardship.
Excellence in Arts and Culture
The day also celebrated Mr. Mutai Kenneth, the institution’s Music and Drama Patron, who has led TENP’s performing arts team to national championship status for three consecutive years.
