At first, I noticed small things. My wife would suddenly dress up every time Felix came around. They would laugh at jokes I didn’t find funny, whispering like teenagers. But I brushed it off. I thought, “Maybe I’m overthinking.” After all, we were like family.

Everything changed one Saturday afternoon. I had gone to Eldoret for a work project and returned a day earlier to surprise my wife. When I entered the house, her phone buzzed on the table Felix’s name. The message read: “Last night was unforgettable. Same time tomorrow?”

I froze. My heart literally stopped for a second. My hands shook as I scrolled through the messages. Photos. Voice notes. Private things I can’t even describe.

That night, I didn’t say a word. I sat in the dark like a ghost, listening to her breathe beside me, pretending to sleep. The next morning, I packed my things and left quietly. The pain was unbearable. I couldn’t eat, couldn’t sleep. I kept asking God, “Why would my own friend do this?”
