Kenya Vision 2030 Delivery Secretariat Engages Kenyatta University Economics Students in Ruwaza Forum
The Kenya Vision 2030 Delivery Secretariat (VDS) successfully hosted a Ruwaza Forum with the Kenyatta University Economics Students Association (KUESA) this morning, fostering dialogue on Kenya’s sustainable and inclusive development agenda beyond 2030.
The half-day session, held at the Ruwaza Centre within the Vision 2030 offices from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., brought together Vision 2030 planners and young economists for an interactive exchange of ideas.
The forum is part of ongoing consultations by the Secretariat aimed at developing the successor to the current Vision 2030 blueprint. By engaging university students—particularly those studying economics—VDS is creating a platform for future leaders to contribute their insights into economic transformation and national development priorities.
“Kenya’s youth represent the future of our economy and the driving force behind innovation and implementation. Their input is critical in shaping a development framework that truly reflects their aspirations,” said Director Ismail Maaruf, Director of the Economic and Macro Pillar at the Vision 2030 Delivery Secretariat.
The session featured a presentation on Vision 2030’s achievements and future planning, followed by an interactive plenary that allowed students to share ideas and feedback directly with policymakers.
This collaboration highlights VDS’s commitment to inclusive and participatory planning processes, ensuring that all sectors of society, particularly the youth, play a role in shaping Kenya’s sustainable development future.
