Governor Nassir Mourns Mombasa Content Creator Mariam ‘Digida’ Lwande
Mombasa Governor Abdullswamad Sherrif Nassir has led tributes following the passing of popular content creator and entertainer Mariam Antonet Lwande, fondly known by her fans as “Digida.”
In a heartfelt message, Governor Nassir described Mariam as one of Mombasa’s brightest and most beloved personalities, whose creativity, humor, and authenticity left an indelible mark on both the local and online community.
“We have lost one of Mombasa’s brightest and most beloved personalities. Mariam Antonet Lwande, fondly known to many as ‘Digida,’ brought laughter, light, and authenticity to our social circles and online spaces,” Governor Nassir said.
He noted that Mariam’s vibrant energy and relatable charm made her a household name and a unifying figure for many, connecting deeply with people across Mombasa and beyond.
On behalf of the County Government of Mombasa and its residents, Governor Nassir extended heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, and members of the creative community, acknowledging the immense loss felt throughout the region.
“The County Government has made the decision to offset her hospital bills. We will stand with the family during this trying time,” he affirmed.
Governor Nassir concluded his message with a note of faith and reflection:
