Rwandan Gospel Singer Gogo Gloriose Repatriated from Uganda After Fatal Seizure

The body of renowned Rwandan gospel singer Gogo Gloriose, also known by her stage name Gudubai Everidei, was repatriated from Uganda to Rwanda last night for burial, following confirmation that she succumbed to a fatal seizure.

According to her manager, Gogo had long battled epilepsy, a neurological disorder that caused her to suffer from frequent seizures and convulsions. Despite receiving ongoing medical care, her condition reportedly worsened in recent months. Tragically, during a particularly severe episode last month, she did not recover.

The beloved singer passed away in Uganda, where she had been staying for a series of gospel concerts and ministry work.

“Gogo was a fighter,” her manager said. “She faced her illness with incredible strength and never let it stop her from ministering through music. Her passing is a huge loss to the Rwandan gospel community and beyond.”

Fans, friends, and fellow artists have flooded social media with tributes, remembering Gogo not only for her powerful voice and spiritual message but also for her resilience and authenticity.

Gogo Gloriose rose to prominence with her unique style and charismatic performances under the moniker Gudubai Everidei, a nickname that became a symbol of her joyful spirit and unwavering faith. Her songs, often centered on themes of hope and perseverance, resonated deeply with audiences both in Rwanda and across East Africa.

The singer's family has confirmed that funeral arrangements are underway, with burial expected to take place later this week in her hometown in Rwanda.

May her soul rest in eternal peace.
