New Resource Center Launched in Emanyonyi to Support Orphans, Widows, and Struggling Students

Residents of Emanyonyi in Luanda Sub-county have reason to celebrate following the official opening of a new Resource Center established under the Reuben Kigame Foundation. The center is dedicated to supporting vulnerable members of the community, particularly orphans, widows, and children who face academic challenges.

Speaking at the launch, Dr. Reuben Kigame, a presidential aspirant and founder of the Foundation, emphasized that the center will serve as a safe learning space for children aged 5 to 18 who are struggling with subjects such as mathematics, science, history, and geography. The facility is equipped with relevant learning materials to help bridge educational gaps.

“This center is about giving our children a future,” said Dr. Kigame. “We will offer foreign language lessons such as French, German, Chinese, and Spanish, alongside improving English, Kiswahili, and even Luhya dialects, including proverbs and cultural heritage.

Beyond academics, the center will provide training in creative arts such as music, drawing, writing, and talent development. According to Dr. Kigame, the Emanyonyi Resource Center is a model that he hopes to replicate in every county across Kenya.

“We’re calling on volunteers; teachers, mentors, and social service professionals, to join us in this mission. If you have skills or services to offer, please connect with the Reuben Kigame Foundation online,” he urged.

In addition to education, the center also aims to combat hunger. Dr. Kigame announced that the foundation will begin distributing food rations, initially once or twice a month, to assist orphans, widows, and other vulnerable groups.

“Our dream is that no one in Bunyore or in Kenya dies of hunger. Not that have much, but we will share the little that we have,” he added.

Dr. Kigame concluded by appealing to the public: “We are not poor; God has blessed us. If you have maize, beans, milk, eggs, cassava, or anything you can share, bring it to the center. Let’s care for those in need. Your generosity will be a blessing to others.”

Dr. Kigame officially announced on August 20 2025 that he will vie for the presidency in 2027.
