Senge Hellena Postpones "TOS MA JEHOVAH" Event Amid Political Tensions, Sets New Date for September

 

Popular Kalenjin comedian Senge Hellena has announced the postponement of his highly anticipated event "TOS MA JEHOVAH," which was originally scheduled for this Saturday, 2nd August 2025, at the Eldoret Showground. The event will now take place on Saturday, 13th September 2025, at the same venue.

This comes barely a month after the event’s initial venue, Eldoret Sports Club, cancelled the booking—forcing a last-minute change to the Showground. The abrupt venue shift had already placed logistical strain on the comedian and his team, and now the latest delay adds another layer of uncertainty.

In a statement released today, Senge Hellena addressed the postponement, describing it as a moment for "reflection and realignment." While he did not explicitly state the reason for the rescheduling, he emphasized that his aim is to promote culture and heritage—not to incite division or political friction.

Senge, who declared himself the "New Mau Mau Warrior" during the nationwide Gen Z protests on June 25th, acknowledged that his participation in the demonstrations sparked controversy—especially among his fanbase, which is largely based in President William Ruto’s Rift Valley stronghold.

“I took part in the protests in my personal capacity as a young Kenyan who wants to see positive change, not as a public figure,” he said in the statement. “I’ve taken the past few weeks to reflect on my actions. I know some of my fans were disappointed, but I want to be clear—my values and my commitment to the youth remain unshaken.”

The comedian also expressed hope that his supporters would stand by him through what he called a “turbulent” chapter in his career.

Despite the controversy and setbacks, Senge Hellena reiterated that "TOS MA JEHOVAH" will still go on—albeit on the new date in September. The show is expected to feature a blend of satire, cultural commentary, and comedy, continuing his mission to use humor as a lens to address serious social issues.
