Land Dispute Settled Overnight Disappearing Fence Reappears in Original Position
A long-standing land conflict in Kitui County has taken a dramatic and mysterious turn after a contested boundary fence, which had been removed in broad daylight earlier this month, reappeared overnight in its original position. The incident has left villagers, local administrators, and even land surveyors scratching their heads.
The dispute involved two brothers who had been battling over their late father’s land for nearly six years. Tensions rose in recent weeks after one brother, identified as Jackson, allegedly pulled down the boundary fence and claimed full ownership of the land. He accused his younger sibling, Martin, of forging documents and trespassing.
Onlookers said Jackson arrived with hired laborers and removed the wooden fence early on a Monday morning, daring his brother to take legal action if he had a problem with it. A local chief had tried to mediate in the past but gave up after multiple failed reconciliation meetings.
However, on Friday morning, villagers woke up to a stunning scene. The exact same fence that had been removed just days earlier was standing tall, marking the exact original boundary. The wood appeared freshly polished and reinforced, with no signs of nails or tools used. No one had seen or heard any activity overnight. to read more click here
