Kakamega County Polytechnic Learners Set for National Examinations

Learners at Kakamega County Polytechnic are ready to sit for their Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) exams starting tomorrow, Wednesday, July 16, 2025, following an assessment of preparedness led by County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Education, Science and Technology, Mr. Benard Amwayi.

During his visit to the institution, Mr. Amwayi expressed confidence in the institution's readiness, citing adequate academic resources and the commitment of both tutors and learners. He assured students of continued support from the County Government in skills development, youth empowerment and job creation.

“The County Government under Governor Fernandes Barasa remains committed to strengthening Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions as a pathway to economic empowerment and sustainable livelihoods for our youth,” said Mr. Amwayi.

He emphasised the importance of practical skills training in building a self-reliant, productive workforce capable of meeting modern job market demands.

The institution's Principal, Ms. Caroline Khamete, and the County Director of Polytechnics, Mr. Alois Oseko, accompanied the CECM during the inspection.

The assessment exercise reflects Kakamega County’s broader agenda of investing in education and youth skills development as key drivers of economic growth and social progress.
