Elzeba Busienei Appointed as New Eldoret City Manager

The County Public Service Board has appointed Elzeba Busienei as the new City Manager of Eldoret, marking a significant leadership transition in Uasin Gishu County’s urban administration.

Governor Jonathan Bii, while congratulating Busienei on her appointment, expressed confidence in her leadership and capacity to guide the city toward a more prosperous and sustainable future.

“Wishing you great success as you take on this important role in steering and safeguarding the future of our beloved city, Eldoret,” said Governor Bii. “Your experience and dedication will be instrumental in shaping the next phase of urban development.”

Busienei takes over from Tito Koiyet, who has been serving as the City Manager and is credited with overseeing key urban initiatives and infrastructural improvements during his tenure.

Her appointment comes at a time when Eldoret is experiencing rapid growth and urbanization, placing increasing demands on city infrastructure, planning, and service delivery.

Known for her background in public administration and urban management, Busienei is expected to prioritize sustainable development, improved service delivery, and effective citizen engagement.

Her leadership is also seen as a step forward in promoting gender inclusivity within senior county management roles
