TENP Students Lead Successful Campus Clean-Up Drive
In a spirited display of environmental responsibility, the Environment Club of the Eldoret National Polytechnic (TENP) led a successful campus clean-up exercise on June 27, 2025.
The initiative was spearheaded by the Students’ Cabinet Secretary for Health and Environment, Juliet Mokeira, alongside Environment Club Chairperson Richard Satia. The event brought together several student leaders, including TENPSU Deputy President Mr. Dan Wakoli and CS for Education, Miss Poly, among others.
The clean-up targeted key areas around the campus, including the highway, the lower office blocks, and the student centre. The team collected litter, sensitized passersby, and promoted responsible waste disposal among the campus community.
Gracing the event were Mr. David Chepkangor, Head of Department for Building and Civil Engineering, and Mr. Jonathan Ngenoh, the institution’s Environment Officer. Both commended the students for taking initiative and encouraged continued collaboration between departments to maintain a clean and healthy learning environment.
The clean-up exercise was conducted under the theme “Trash it right, keep TENP clean,” a slogan the Environment Club pledged to uphold in regular future activities.
“This is not a one-time event,” said Juliet Mokeira. “It’s a movement to inspire a cleaner, greener campus—one clean-up at a time.”
