Two Suspects Arrested, Stolen Motorcycle Recovered in Mudete Police Operation

In a coordinated early morning operation, police officers from Kakamega and Mudete Police Stations successfully recovered a stolen motorcycle and arrested two suspects believed to be involved in the theft.

According to police sources, the operation took place at approximately 3:00 AM following a report of a missing motorcycle. Acting swiftly on intelligence, officers traced the stolen red Boxer motorcycle, registration number KMFQ 735P, to a rental house near Mudete Centre.

The motorcycle, which had been carefully concealed, was positively identified by its rightful owner at the scene.

“The motorcycle was hidden in a rented room and appears to have been stashed there in an attempt to evade detection,” said a police spokesperson. “We are glad it was recovered intact and promptly returned to its owner.”

Two suspects, who were present at the scene during the recovery, were arrested and are currently in police custody. The recovered motorcycle has been moved to Kakamega Police Station, where it will be held as part of ongoing investigations.

The National Police Service (NPS) has reaffirmed its commitment to protecting life and property, and lauded the swift collaboration between local stations that led to the recovery.

“This operation is a reflection of our dedication to ensuring the safety and security of all citizens. We urge the public to continue reporting criminal activity promptly,” the statement read.
