Principal Secretary for the State Department for Diaspora Affairs, Ms. Roseline Kathure Njogu, has issued an urgent safety advisory to all Kenyan nationals residing in Israel and Iran following the rapidly escalating conflict between the two nations.

Ms. Njogu reaffirmed the government’s unwavering commitment to the protection and welfare of Kenyans abroad, emphasizing that their safety remains the government’s top priority. “The safety and well-being of Kenyans abroad remain our utmost priority as the situation in the Middle East continues to evolve,” she said, assuring that the government is actively monitoring the unfolding events.

In her comprehensive directive, Ms. Njogu advised Kenyans in Israel and Iran to exercise extreme caution, avoid all non-essential movements, closely monitor local news and security updates, and strictly adhere to instructions from local authorities. She stressed the importance of emergency preparedness, encouraging Kenyans to ensure that essential documents and emergency supplies are readily available.

The Principal Secretary urged all unregistered Kenyans in the affected regions to immediately report their presence to the nearest Kenyan embassy. “Registering your presence with the Kenya mission near you ensures that you can be reached quickly in case of evacuation or urgent assistance,” she emphasized.

Ms. Njogu provided key emergency contact points, including the Kenya Embassy in Tel Aviv, Israel, and the Kenya Embassy in Tehran, Iran. Additionally, the State Department for Diaspora Affairs has provided direct contact numbers and an email for any Kenyan in distress, further demonstrating the government’s readiness to assist.

She also encouraged Kenyans to maintain regular contact with their families and loved ones in Kenya, consistently updating them on their safety and movements.

Ms. Njogu emphasized that her office, working in close collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, remains fully committed to providing timely support and critical interventions to Kenyans living abroad. She stressed that the government’s swift action is a clear reflection of its dedication to safeguarding the lives, security, and dignity of all Kenyans, particularly during periods of heightened geopolitical instability.
