In a vibrant celebration of resilience, unity, and active aging, Tophill Hospital proudly played a pivotal role in the recent Soccer for the Grannies event hosted at Tambach Teachers Training College. The spirited tournament drew senior women’s teams from five counties — Elgeyo Marakwet, Uasin Gishu, Baringo, Nandi, and Kakamega — showcasing that age is no barrier to passion, strength, and athleticism.
Tophill Hospital stepped in as a key health partner, offering emergency and ambulatory services throughout the event. The hospital’s delegation, led by Head of Marketing Joseph Bor, included a professional physiotherapist and nurse who remained on-site to attend to any medical needs that arose, ensuring the well-being of all participants.
The event was graced by distinguished guests, including Dr. Elizabeth Keitany, President of the Kenya Grannies Football Federation, and Professor Grace Cheserek, Deputy Governor of Elgeyo Marakwet. Both lauded the initiative for empowering older women and promoting physical and social well-being in local communities.
“Our presence here today is a reflection of Tophill Hospital’s commitment to not just healthcare, but to uplifting lives through community engagement,” said Joseph Bor. “These grannies are an inspiration, and it’s our honor to support them.”
Through such initiatives, Tophill Hospital continues to lead in promoting health, wellness, and generational inclusion, affirming its role as a trusted community partner both on and off the field.
