In a bold move to reinforce access to education and relieve the financial pressure on families, Mwea Member of Parliament Hon. Mary Maingi has officially launched the issuance of bursary cheques to day secondary schools across the constituency.

Staying true to her promise of championing education, Hon. Maingi dispatched a team from her office to distribute bursaries to 20 schools, including Rurii, Good Samaritan, Stephen Kiragu, Gitooni, Kangure, Komboini, Nyaga, Nyaikungu, Nguka, Kiamanyeki, Kiambu, Tebere, Mathangauta, Ngucui, Urumandi, Mumbu, Murinduko, Nyangati, and Kiorugari Secondary Schools.

“This initiative is part of our broader goal to ensure that no child is left behind because of school fees,” said Hon. Maingi. “Education remains at the heart of our development agenda, and we are committed to making it accessible and equitable for all.”

The bursary program is a critical pillar in Hon. Maingi’s development plan, aimed at empowering families and strengthening the constituency’s educational foundations. With many households still grappling with the economic aftershocks of the pandemic and rising living costs, the support comes as a welcome relief for thousands of parents and guardians.

In her ongoing efforts to transform Mwea under the banner #NyoroshaMwea, Hon. Maingi has prioritized education, infrastructure, and community empowerment as key drivers of growth and development.

“This is just the beginning,” she affirmed. “We will continue investing in our youth because they are the future of this great constituency.”

As the bursary disbursement continues, stakeholders have lauded the MP’s unwavering commitment to education and her hands-on leadership approach.
