Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya today launched the annual free seed distribution in Tumaini, Sinyereri Ward, Cherangany Sub-County, targeting 150,000 farmers countywide.
The initiative, led by the Agriculture Department under CECM Phanice Khatundi, aims to enhance food security and boost farm productivity. The governor urged farmers to plant early and leverage the nitrogen cycle with the first rains for optimal yields.
This program is set to cut farming costs, improve yields, and strengthen the local economy, reinforcing Trans Nzoia’s position as Kenya’s food basket.
