The Cabinet Secretary for Education, Julius Migos Ogamba, today attended the launch of the University of Eldoret’s Strategic Plan for 2024-2029. The event, which was also a momentous occasion for the university, celebrated the institution's re-certification of the ISO 9001:2015 standard, a global recognition for quality management systems.
In his address, CS Ogamba emphasized the importance of strategic planning in ensuring the success and sustainability of public institutions. He noted that well-crafted plans are key to setting clear and achievable targets, which, in turn, enhance organizational performance and impact, especially within the public sector.
"The University of Eldoret’s new strategic plan will not only guide the institution’s growth over the next five years but also ensure that it remains a hub of excellence in education, research, and community engagement," Ogamba stated. "I encourage all universities to uphold high standards of quality and corporate governance, integrate technology in their teaching methodologies, and seek strategic partnerships that will drive sustainability and innovation."
The re-certification of the university to the ISO 9001:2015 standard highlights its commitment to continuous improvement in quality management, positioning it as a leading institution in higher education in Kenya.
Ogamba further reiterated the government's commitment to enhancing the quality of education across the country, urging institutions to embrace technology and partnerships that will help build a more sustainable and resilient education system.
The launch event marked a significant milestone in the University of Eldoret’s journey towards achieving its long-term goals, with a focus on innovation, academic excellence, and community transformation.
