Residents of Kampi ya Samaki in Marigat, Baringo County, have been left in fear and uncertainty following reports of the alleged abduction of a prominent businessman, Mzee Enock Kipkiruk.

According to information shared by his family in a public appeal, Kipkiruk was reportedly taken from his home at around 11:30 pm by armed men whose identities remain unknown.

The family claims that three Land Cruiser vehicles arrived at the homestead, with two reportedly being ordinary vehicles and the third resembling an ambulance.

The armed men, whose faces were allegedly covered, are said to have forcefully entered the house, broken down doors and searched the premises while claiming to be looking for a firearm.

During the incident, the family alleges that Kipkiruk was assaulted before being forcibly taken away. His whereabouts remain unknown, raising concerns among relatives, friends and residents.

Kipkiruk is described as a well-known businessman and family man with Coca-Cola business interests in Marigat and Kampi ya Samaki.

The circumstances surrounding the alleged incident, including the identity and motive of the people involved, remain unclear.

In the public appeal, the family raised concerns over rumours linking the alleged abductors to the police Special Operations Group (SOG). However, the claims have not been independently verified, and no official confirmation establishing the involvement of any security agency has been provided.

The family has called on relevant security agencies to urgently investigate the incident, establish who was involved and help trace Kipkiruk's whereabouts.

They have also appealed to members of the public who may have witnessed suspicious movements around Kampi ya Samaki or have information that could assist in locating him to come forward.

Anyone with information has been asked to contact the family through 0704 216 833 or reach out to his son, Ben.

The incident has sparked renewed calls for accountability and the protection of citizens, with the family demanding answers and urging authorities to ensure Kipkiruk is safely reunited with his loved ones.

The family is appealing for urgent intervention as uncertainty continues over the whereabouts of Mzee Enock Kipkiruk.
