Tourism CS Rebecca Miano Welcomes Peak Tourism Season, Reaffirms Commitment to Sustainable Growth
Tourism and Wildlife Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Miano, EGH, has officially welcomed the start of Kenya's peak tourism season, expressing optimism that the country is well-positioned to receive visitors from around the world seeking its iconic wildlife, breathtaking landscapes, rich cultural heritage, and renowned hospitality.
Marking the beginning of July, the Cabinet Secretary said the period signals one of the most important seasons for Kenya's tourism industry, with global attention turning to the country's internationally acclaimed attractions, including the Great Wildebeest Migration in the Maasai Mara, the pristine beaches along the Indian Ocean coastline, and diverse cultural experiences across the country.
Miano said the Government remains committed to strengthening a tourism sector that is sustainable, inclusive, and globally competitive while safeguarding Kenya's natural heritage for future generations.
She noted that the Ministry continues to work closely with industry stakeholders to enhance visitor experiences, promote conservation, and ensure that tourism delivers meaningful economic benefits to local communities.
"As we enter the peak tourism season, we are inviting the world to experience Kenya—the Origin of Wonder. Every visitor who chooses Kenya contributes not only to our economy but also to conservation efforts and the livelihoods of communities that depend on tourism," she said.
The Cabinet Secretary encouraged international and domestic visitors to explore Kenya's diverse destinations and engage with local communities, noting that responsible tourism plays a vital role in preserving wildlife, protecting ecosystems, and creating employment opportunities.
She also commended hoteliers, tour operators, guides, conservationists, and other tourism stakeholders for their continued commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, professionalism, and service excellence.
"Our tourism industry is built on the dedication of thousands of Kenyans who work tirelessly to ensure every guest enjoys an unforgettable experience. Their commitment to excellence continues to strengthen Kenya's reputation as one of the world's premier travel destinations," Miano said.
She expressed confidence that the peak season will further boost visitor arrivals, stimulate investment, and reinforce Kenya's position as Africa's leading tourism and hospitality destination under the Magical Kenya brand.
