Ruto: I Will Work 24 Hours a Day to Transform Kenya, Says He Won't Be Distracted by Critics
President William Samoei Ruto has reaffirmed his commitment to delivering on his administration's development agenda, declaring that he is prepared to work "24 hours a day" to ensure Kenya achieves meaningful progress despite growing political criticism.
Speaking on Monday, the Head of State said his focus remains firmly on fulfilling the mandate entrusted to him by Kenyans, emphasizing that his responsibility is to serve the people rather than engage in political distractions.
"I will work 24 hours a day to ensure Kenya moves forward. To those who oppose this agenda, let it be clear: I am not a king. I was elected by the people of Kenya to serve them, and I will remain focused on delivering the development, opportunities, and progress they entrusted me to achieve. My commitment is to every Kenyan, and I will not be distracted from that responsibility," President Ruto said.
The President stressed that his administration remains focused on accelerating economic growth, creating employment opportunities, improving infrastructure, expanding access to affordable housing, strengthening healthcare, and enhancing agricultural productivity as part of the Kenya Kwanza development agenda.
His remarks come at a time when the country continues to experience intense political debate, with sections of the opposition criticizing government policies while the administration insists its reforms are aimed at securing Kenya's long-term prosperity.
By stating that he is "not a king," President Ruto underscored the democratic principles under which his government operates, noting that leadership is a responsibility entrusted by citizens through the ballot and must be exercised with accountability.
The President maintained that while criticism is part of a healthy democracy, his administration will remain focused on implementing projects that improve the lives of ordinary Kenyans rather than being sidetracked by political contests.
His statement has since sparked widespread discussion across social media, with supporters praising his determination to deliver on campaign promises, while critics continue to demand faster action on the cost of living and economic challenges facing many households.
As the Kenya Kwanza administration enters another phase of implementing its development agenda, President Ruto has reiterated that his priority is to work tirelessly for the benefit of all Kenyans and ensure the country remains on the path of growth, opportunity, and national development.
